Thoughts

Traditionally, artists have always expressed thoughts by means of a contact between a hand and the face, such as in The Thinker, of the famous sculptor Rodin, where the muscular tension reveals the intense mental effort of the subject. With Thoughts, Britta creates a very soft and seducing image of a thinker: the hand is slightly caressing the left chin, indicating an intimate and perhaps sensual object of desire or remembrance.

This series is also one of the most radical experiments in abstraction developed by the artist, with geometrical figures framing the image. The contrast between geometry and the subtle play of expressions and body language questions the limits of communication in painting and photography.
