Skyscraper

The series Skyscrapers offers multiple possibilities of interpretation. On the one hand, it is possible to read these photocollages from the point of view of the spectator, corresponding to that of an ideal passer-by situated at the bottom of the tall buildings, and who, staring at the sky, is surprised by the appearance of a monumental woman. On the other hand, the image can be approached from the point of view of the subject represented, the monumental woman, for whom the skyscrapers could be interpreted as the materialisation of a memory or a fantasy, of which perhaps we are part, as we are occupying an ideal point at the bottom of the tall buildings. This blurring of dimensions deconstructs the realistic representation, and creates a kind of archetypal situation where phantasms and fantasies materialise.
